Middle School Choral Camp

Music Experience

The Middle School Vocal Camp provides a diverse offering of musical experiences. All participants sing in the Foster Camp Middle School Choir, led by Associate Professor of Vocal Music Education and Musical Theatre at Eastern Kentucky University, Dr. Jill Campbell. This a unique educational opportunity for middle school aged students to participate in a summer choral experience. Students will attend vocal masterclasses, work in small and large ensembles, attend classes on musical theatre, and much more. The choir performs a wide variety of choral repertoire  with a public performance on the final day of camp.

Conductor

Dr. Jill Campbell holds a Ph.D. in music education from the University of Kentucky where she studied choral music teacher attitudes in regard to sex-specific adolescent vocal change. She completed BMME in vocal music education, a minor in violin performance, an MM in choral conducting, and a Rank 1 in Music Education. Additionally, she earned the Graduate Certificate in Orff Schulwerk. Dr. Campbell has experience teaching at the elementary, middle, and collegiate levels, and has worked in church music. Dr. Campbell was a founding director of the Lexington Singers Children's Choir and conducted with them for eight seasons.
